330 hp 6-speed manual gearbox as standard

The new Cayman R incorporates the letter of the selective models of Porsche. Thus the new Cayman increases the power to 330 hp by reducing their weight by 55 kg and 20 mm lower its chassis to be made even sportier and more radical.
The new coupé is powered by six-cylinder engine and 3.4 liters, which transmits power to the rear wheels through a gearbox six-speed manual, with which it achieves Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 5 seconds. Optionally you can mount the transmission double-clutch seven-speed Porsche Doppel Kupplungsgeitriebe (PDK), which reduces the time to 4.9 seconds.
For a performance even more spectacular, the Cayman R may incorporate the optional Sport Chrono package, which lets you accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in just 4.7 seconds. The new mid-engined coupe is capable of reaching 282 km / h speed limit with manual gearbox and 280 km / h with the PDK. Its average fuel consumption, according to the NEDC European standards, is 9.7 l/100 km for the six-speed version, and 9.3 l/100 km in the PDK.
Lighter and custom
For weight reduction has been used lighter components without reducing equipment.
The silhouette of the body is distinguished by a different fixed rear spoiler, silver wheels and sporting many elements, both inside and outside.
Black bezel headlamp with the mirror of the same color and the word “PORSCHE” stenciled on the sides (in contrast tone black or silver, depending on car paint) are design cues taken from the classic Porsche racing .
Precisely this labeling was the hallmark of the first Porsche that used the “R” in its name, 911 R, 1967. This model was developed for racing on a small number limited to 19 units. The “R” was a prototype based on the series coupe Carrera 6 engine with 210 hp and, thanks to its many components and their extremely spartan plastics equipment, weighing only 830 kilos.
The new Porsche Cayman R will be sold in February 2011. The final price for the Spanish market is 79,082 euros.
