World premiere of Freemont, the first Fiat result of a partnership with Chrysler
In the next Geneva Motor Show to debut the new Fiat Freemont, to be sold during the second half of 2011. Freemont, born based on the Dodge Journey is the first Fiat result of a partnership with Chrysler Group. Mexican plant will be built in Toluca, where it produces 500 for the American market.

Fiat family appropriates the Journey, updating the interior and putting the key drivers of its new range, based on two power levels Multijet engine with 140 hp and 170 plus a gasoline V6 Chrysler source. Freemont come with four-wheel drive, keeping the family philosophy of 7 seats, so we’ll have a comprehensive and competitive car for recreation, country and family.

Fiat Freemont ensures versatility with 7 seats, with a third row of seats, easily accessible thanks to the opening of 90 º of doors. With a simple movement of the third row seats can be hidden, disappearing under the floor and creating a cargo space. The second-row seats are mounted higher compared to the previous ones, while the third row is higher than the second, allowing maximum visibility to all occupants.
Furthermore, the second row will also have an innovative “child booster that with high pads, allows children to correctly place, optimizing the geometry of seat belts and ensuring greater protection, practicality and comfort.

In the urban version added alloy wheels 17 “touch screen radio with display 8.4″ DVD and SD card reader, bluetooth, rear parking sensors, folding mirrors, automatic lights, moons darkened rear and roof bars.
The Fiat Freemont He initially be available with front and turbodiesel engines (2.0 Multijet 140 hp or 170 hp) with manual gearbox. Later versions will incorporate the 4×4 with two engines (2.0 Multijet 170 bhp and 3.6 V6 petrol 276 hp), both with automatic transmission. With the exception of the powerful 3.6-liter engine family Pentastar Chrysler Group and the automatic change associated with this engine, all engines and gearboxes will be produced and developed by FPT-Fiat Powertrain.
